Latest News: Brett Favre Diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease
Former NFL quarterback and Super Bowl champion Brett Favre stated during a September 24 congressional hearing he was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
Favre was the first NFL player to win three consecutive Associated Press MVP awards.
According to The Los Angeles Times, the 54-year-old spoke in front of the House Ways and Means Committee for a hearing about welfare accountability and reform, including allegations he and others used Mississippi state funds for personal and corporate gains.
He discussed his support and investment in Prevacus, a drug company working to create a concussion treatment, when he revealed his health update.
“I’m sure you’ll understand why it’s too late for me, because I’ve recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
This is also a cause dear to my heart,” Favre said.
